ISHI Q — Colorblind Filter & Vision Assist (browser extension) · Last updated 6 August 2026

The short version This extension recolors web pages entirely inside your browser. It has no server, collects no data, and sends nothing about you or the pages you visit anywhere. It is open source, so this can be verified.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or tracking. The extension does not transmit your browsing activity, the content of pages, your settings, or any personal information to us or to any third party. There is no server that receives your data because there is no server at all.

What the extension stores, and where

Your settings — vision type, severity, correction strength, the on/off state, and the list of sites you've disabled it on — are saved using the browser's own extension storage (chrome.storage.sync). If you are signed in to your browser, your browser may sync these settings across your own devices so your preferences follow you. This is handled by your browser vendor (e.g. Google) under their terms; it is settings only — never the pages you view or your browsing history. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.

How the color correction works

To recolor a page, the extension reads the page's colors and applies a color-vision correction (daltonization) directly in your browser, as the page renders. This happens locally on your device. Page content is not copied, uploaded, screenshotted, or stored. The correction only changes how colors appear to you; it does not alter the underlying page, and screenshots or downloads keep their true colors.

Permissions, and why they're needed

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, because we do not collect any. The extension contains no advertising and no third-party trackers.

Children

The extension is a general-purpose accessibility tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Not a medical device

ISHI Q adjusts how colors look; it is an accessibility aid, not a medical or diagnostic tool. If your color vision has changed recently, please consult an eye-care professional.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
